Sled Den Update

(8 more days 'till Christmas)

Well, half the group left The Sled Den on Sunday night and eventually got to Matane where they finally closed the road….yep, all the way to here (about 85 miles)!

The other half of the group had a good dinner and a few beers – not mention a good night’s sleep before the early morning drive.

After the guys left, Ryan and I went for a ride in the backcountry on the 2 – 3 feet of pow that fell overnight and was still falling at 1 pm. Rode for just over 4 hours and burned a whole tank of gas. Over The Head pow all day!!!.... was even a little dangerous at times….but who am I to complain about choking, yes choking on pow sometimes, from the insane turns we were doing.

Best days that I have ever ridden pow in my life……OK, I haven’t been out west to ride but I know Champagne Powder…..you be the judge……

This is the third time out of 8 rides that it was stupid deep….I am so happy with my Klim gear and the seal I get from my 509 Carbon Helmet and Goggles. Yes, they really are good as long as you get a good seal.

Going out tomorrow for some pics and video…..I hope it doesn’t snow too hard.....

Oh yeah, we’re getting more snow tomorrow and looks like a BIG one this weekend.....

This has been the best year for snow so far….looks like riding in cuts might start by the first of January.

I’ll be keeping everyone up to date….enjoy the powder pics…

P.S. The trails were groomed 2 weeks ago and again after the big storm. So now, at sea-level it’s a foot to a foot and a half of snow base on the trails if anybody wants to know…..
