Sled Den report Dec 13, 2014

A huge storm made its way down to The Sled Den......

Unfortunately, the storm got so big…….. we got some rain. We had a foot of new snow but the rain beat that down. The snow is wet and it’s still raining.

Doesn’t look good for trails to open.

BUT ALL IS NOT LOST………..

On the other hand, above 2000’ it was snowing really hard when we left. There was more than a foot of new snow. Mountainforecast said another 6 inches…... We will see….

Looks like it’s going to be just below 0 degrees at night and just above it during the day.

The ride from the truck was in rain till 1800’. Then we meet 2 friends with their other 2 buddies. We then all rode to a spot where we were just at 2000’.

There was no more crust and the snow wasn’t wet……we all  played around for a while, then……..It started to snow more so we left ‘cause we could not see. On the way down at 1500’ it was all rain……..still raining even now…..

Makes you wonder what is in store for tomorrow…….. I have said it’s like out west here…… Well, if it’s all snow then I guess I was right. Tomorrow we will see……..

I hope Gaspésie turns out to be the hidden jewel I always thought it was……..  Jack
